Fund Development Assistant — Washington, DC
Non-profit Organization Assisting Veterans
Part-time (PT) — 15 hours/week
No nights, weekends if desired
$15.00/hour
Job Description: Assist President/CEO
with coordination fundraising efforts with primary emphasis on:
- Conducting prospect research among corporations
and private and corporate foundations,
- Helping prepare proposal submissions,
- Developing donor base, and
- Helping obtain gifts, contributions, and grants as
sources of financial support to provide and enhance organizational activities
and services.
Computer Skills: Ability to navigate
Internet
Typing WPM: 60
Word Processing: Yes
Other Skills:
- Fundraising experience
- Researching, soliciting, cultivating potential donors
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong personal commitment to veterans
- Must have strong organization, communication, and
project management skills
- Ability to analyze and solve programs
- Experience researching and recruiting subject matter
experts and working with volunteer faculty preferred; event planning
background helpful
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination
of education and experience required
- Background in adult education programs highly desired
- Teamwork and flexibility a must

in identifying donors who contribute, a bonus or increase in hourly rate
may be considered.
Comments: Organization serves
as a liaison between homeless veteran service providers, homeless veterans,
Congress, Executive Branch agencies, and the general public to advocate
for veteran-specific programs. Some travel necessary.
